Working Group Meeting held by IRCI, Japan, 2020 Back
Nerupama Y. Modwel, PD, ICH Division, was invited by the International Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (IRCI), Japan, to join a working group meeting in February 2020 at the National Museum, Tokyo. This meeting was related to the project on ‘Establishing New Sustainable Mechanisms for Systematic Research Data Collection’. IRCI is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre working in the field of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) to promote and enhance its safeguarding through instigating, facilitating, and coordinating research in the Asia-Pacific region. Ms. Modwel gave a presentation on the status of ICH in India and the role of INTACH in mapping and documenting ICH and promoting it for the larger public interest and for awareness creation.
