PrayagPravah: A documentary on KumbhMela, Prayagraj, 2019 Back
For the ongoing NamamiGange project of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Ministry of Jal Shakti, a documentary film,PrayagPravah, on the KumbhMela at Prayagraj (2019) was prepared by INTACH. The film, describing how the Kumbh is a unique religious congregation, was made under the direction of Dr. Deependra Sharma, Convener, Dhar Chapter, INTACH. The film describes several aspects of the 2019 KumbhMela at Prayagraj, including the customary rituals at TriveniSangam, Akshayavat, and the grand Tent City. It captures the excitement around ShahiSnan, Naga Sadhus and KinnarAkhara,and the month-long Kalpvas activities during the Kumbh. The film was screened at INTACH head Office on 3rd September 2019.
