Foundation day Celebrations Back

Dear Friends,
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the Foundation Day Celebrations of INTACH
with
Yatra – a tribute to the sources of classical odissi dance
Yatra uses a blend of agile and lyrical dance movements drawing from the Odissi, Gotipua and Sahiyatra traditions.

 It interprets the idea of a puja or ritual celebration of the Lord on stage, presenting a meditative view of the vocabularies of these traditions.

Foundation Day Invite 2015

The Foundation day, this year, was special for INTACH as it has been celebrating its 30th year of existence. Therefore, the Foundation day occasion was remarkable, in the presence of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Member Secretary, Division heads, staff members, State-Convenors, students from different schools, other dignitaries and guests,

Calenders of INTACH, Chandrapur Chapters were released on this occasion. Students who created excellent artworks, embodying the conservation of heritage of different kinds in India, were felicitated by the dignitaries present.

In the evening the festive scene shifted to India International Center auditorium, as the Member Secretary welcomed an august audience to commemorate and celebrate the works of INTACH over the last 3 decades.

Guests of honor Dr. Karan Singh, eminent Cultural Ambassador, Statesman, Author;  Dr. Lokesh Chandra, renowned cultural historian, scholar and Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan , distinguished academician, cultural researcher, scholar, art historian shared their views on the wonder that INTACH is and has been. They stressed on the manifold completed and ongoing projects, with a view to conserving and promoting heritage, taken up by INTACH; while also remembering the humble beginnings of this organization.

The Tanjavur Marathas: Art, Architecture and Culture , by Dr. S.Suresh, Convenor, Tamil Nadu State Chapter; A Momentous Journey: 30 Years of the Architectural Heritage Division; Conservation Manual for Traditional Building Repair in Ladakh Region; Baolis of Bundi; and The Compendium of Good Practices initiated by NIUA in Collaboration with INTACH were also released.

The ceremony came to an end with an exquisite dance performance by Danceroutes: Yatra – a tribute to the sources of classical odissi dance. Yatra uses a blend of agile and lyrical dance movements drawing from the Odissi, Gotipua and Sahiyatra traditions.
